Help Bring Kevin Home!

In May when I travelled to Sierra Leone, a good friend of mine, Tiffany Johnson went, too.  Actually...our friendship is completely due to Kevin and their efforts to adopt him....it's a funny story, that I'll share in my next post.

Tiffany and her husband, Rich, are trying to adopt Kevin from The Covering, in Sierra Leone.  It will be a long, hard battle and will take several trips to Sierra Leone for this process to come to completion.  It's a complicated mess, but Tiffany's family is part of a small group of people who are working to try to open up adoption in Sierra Leone...hoping that it will not only rescue a few children, but make adoption a viable option for the orphans of SL who have no place else to go.

SO...the Johnson's are selling T-shirts in order to help fund their adoption and travel expenses.  She is actually hosting a giveaway that you can enter  HERE if you read this in the next couple of hours.  If not, please head on over to her blog, check out the shirts and consider buying one to help bring Kevin home.  It's also a great conversation starter and a way to educate people you come in contact with about the orphan crisis.

Here's a few pictures of Tiffany and Kevin while we were at The Covering...he is such a CUTIE!  It was so awesome to get to see him in person and I'm so anxious for him to come home!

This is a picture of the first time she saw him.  The workers handed him right over to her...in the middle of the hallway so I couldn't get a good shot from the front.  We were both a blubbering, crying mess!

Isn't he just precious!?

  1. Jodi...thanks for your comment on my blog! I am so excited to see how God leads us as we partner with TRS.

I just wanted to let you know...I'm also excited for your family as you take on this new way of eating! We have been eating (mostly) this way for a few years now, and it has been good! I think each family will find their own balance ...eating healthy and organic is just more expensive, so you have figure all that out.

But..I'm excited to see how it goes for you and what you learn along the way!

Oh...and...I homeschool, too:) Lots in common:)

    Take care!
