I've posted before about Katie Davis and her ministry, Amazima. You should check it out. This is her blog post today. I am so inspired and amazed at what God is doing through this VERY YOUNG lady. I want to be like Katie.
If you don't already know, Katie is living and serving in Uganda and has been since she was just a teenager. She has adopted 14 girls (yes, she is single!) and also has organized sponsorship and feeding programs for a few hundred. She has also started helping a group of tribal women create beaded necklaces, helping them sell them and recieve money so that they can help support their own families. It's so remarkable!
I also haven't read the book Hole in the Gospel by Richard Stearns yet, but it is on my list and I hope to get it in the next week or so. I hear it is another life-changer, like Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I'll let you know. If you've read it or want to discuss it, I would love to hear your opinions!
Well, here is Katie's post. My goal is to keep Matthew 25 more near to my heart than it has ever been and to make it a life-long habit of reaching out to "the least of these".
