Warm Hearts Group

YEAR END Accomplishments! from The Raining Season on Vimeo.

Tonight I had the privilege of meeting with a great group of people who are part of the Warm Hearts Group.  Warm Hearts Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to:

* raise awareness about the plight of innocent, orphaned children in Sierra Leone and around the globe.
* help support local children and families in need.
* support The Raining Season (TRS) and The Covering through raising money to be used as grants for those traveling to The Covering for mission trips and/or adoption expenses.

I will be traveling on a mission trip to The Covering in May, and I am so excited!   It was wonderful to meet like-minded people who are on the "orphan band wagon".  A few of the gals at the meeting will be traveling in May, also.  We met in order to brainstorm fundraising ideas.

There are a couple of events already on the slate and more to come.  You will have LOTS of opportunity to be involved, so stay tuned!  I will be helping out with each of these events and will recieve a portion of the profits, which will go toward my travel expenses.  If you have any questions, PLEASE let me know!  I will post the details of each event in separate posts as the details are confirmed.

February 27 (tentative date)         Pancake Supper @ James River Assembly
March ??                                    5K run/walk in Nixa, MO
April 10 or 24                             163 Event
(Black tie dinner w/entertainment, live and silent auctions in Branson)
Date TBA                                   Donkey basketball
WHG T-Shirt Sales                       $15.00 each

If you would like to support my trip by just making a donation, instead of participating in a fundraiser, that's always an option.  ANY contribution is so appreciated!

If you don't feel led to help contribute, please help spread the word!  Feel free to post a link on your FaceBook, Twitter, your own blog, or anywhere you feel appropriate.  Thanks SO much for your help!
