James 1:27

We are so excited about becoming involved with orphan ministry through The Raining Season and Warm Hearts Group (WHG).   I am planning to travel to Sierra Leone in May to help with an orphanage there called The Covering.  We know that God has led us to this group of people and this organization for "such a time as this."

Warm Hearts Group is open to anyone who would like to be involved.  If you are interested in being part of orphan ministry in this way, please let me know!  We meet every other Monday evening at Hebrews Coffee on Republic Road.

In order for the trip to happen, we need to raise approximately $4,000.00.  I know that God will provide, but I also believe He expects us to do our part.  For that reason, we have joined with Warm Hearts Group to raise money as well as doing a little work with our budget and a few projects we will be doing individually as well.  Please pray for us and the choices and decisions we will need to make in the next few months.

I normally do not like to ask for things from people, but I truly believe that James 1:27 is for all of us.  We are not all led to adopt an orphan or to take part in traveling, but we are all given the job of caring for orphans and widows.  If you feel led to make a cash donation to our ministry, you may make a check payable to Warm Hearts Group with my name on the memo line and your contribution will be tax deductible.

WHG has created these T-shirts and we are selling them for $15.  Shipping will be an additional $4, if needed.  If you would like to order one, please let me know.

If you live in the area, consider having dinner at McAllister's in Nixa on the evening of Monday, February 22.  WHG will be helping out there by delivering food and bussing tables and will receive a percentage of the profit for the evening.

Saturday, February 27, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., we will be hosting a pancake breakfast.  The location has not been determined at this time.  I'll post it as soon as I know.

We have also scheduled a 5K run in Nixa as well as a black-tie event that will take place in April.  I'll post more information on these two events as the time approaches.
